Hiring! Spread the word far and wide.
Tell your friends! Tell your enemies! Tell your cat! But be warned: this position reports to me, and it is well known that I am a hard-bitten meany-head.
Customer Experience Specialist
We know you’re out there: an excellent problem-solver, equal parts tech-savvy and marketing-minded, great attitude, maybe just a little too smart for your own good… and frustrated because there aren’t a whole lot of e-commerce jobs around Nashville. We understand – you haven’t had a lot of professional web experience. Sure you’ve built your own web site and you set up your own Wordpress blog, complete with every cool plugin you could find, and you know your way around Photoshop enough to have done your own graphics. You know a little something about usability, and you find yourself analyzing web sites and know how they could improve. But what employer would consider that relevant experience?
We feel your pain. And we have just the job for you.
Magazines.com is already the leading subscription agent online, and we’re growing fast and moving in a very exciting direction. And the Customer Experience group is at the forefront of the changes. We have best-of-breed analytics and multi-variate testing tools, an exciting new brand concept, and a top-notch team with solid skills and experience. But we need more bright people to help us go fast – and the next person may well be you.
You’d be driving overall execution of Customer Experience projects both on the web site and off, such as brand integration efforts, customer self-service enhancements, renewal optimization, and many other business programs. While cross-functional project teams will be required to drive project implementation, the Customer Experience Specialist will be responsible for maintaining project plans and delivering tangible business results. In addition to project execution, this position will take a lead role in building and maintaining the Magazines.com site.
Naturally, we pay competitive salary and benefits. We’re located in the Cool Springs area. We look forward to meeting you.
Send your resume and references to jobs@magazines.com with subject line “Customer Experience Specialist” or fax them to 615-778-2139.

I’m hesitantly intrigued.

Don’t worry, I’m not stalking you! I am merely setting out to prove the savviness I referenced in my self-description.
Thanks again…and by the way, I am sorry to hear of your recent health-related woes.

I apologize wholeheartedly if the comment above smacked of unprofessionalism. I am, in fact, a rather serious and hard-working individual; I just possess an iota or two of quirkiness. Said quirkiness can be reigned in upon request. Again, thanks for your attention.

Pardon me. I meant “reined in.” I’m batting a thousand.

You make my old job sound so fun. Looks like you’re really turning things around. Nice work.
