You and your family - both blood and chosen - are very much in my thoughts today. Cannot imagine what it’s like for you to be dealing with what you’re dealing with, but for what it’s worth you have my love and support.

I’m not sure it if was chosen or circumstantial. I’m wary of making any kind of an issue of it. But I hate that it’s going to force me to either process heavy grief for my dad on my birthday, or miss my dad’s memorial dedication. I really don’t like either option one bit.
