Strike 2 for Plumgood
I got home from work, excited to tear into the crates from Plumgood with all the (hopefully) yummy produce and other stuff… only to find my empty totes from last week still at the back door and no new totes anywhere in sight.
I emailed customer service and let them know that I can only conclude that the driver didn’t follow my instructions to deliver to the back door, and that the new totes were stolen.
Grr.
And as a private “fuck you” to whoever stole the totes, I’m snickering at the fact that they got a bunch of tofu and produce rather than meat and fun junk food. Not that I can prove that people who steal prefer meat, but that’s the way my imagination prefers it as some sort of consolation.
Grr again.
Edit: It’s not as bad as all that, actually. The Plumgood driver just delivered our totes to our neighbors’ house. The customer service person who called me was apologetic and refunded the delivery charge. I still don’t know if we’ll use the service again, but we probably should — now we’ve gotten the kinks worked out!

Oh, that sucks so much.
It really does seem to be a downside of living in an urban neighbourhood that we have to worry about things like this.

Look on the bright side: at least you’re subsidizing the thief demographic with some healthier food.

He’s alive! I didn’t know if you even existed anymore, we haven’t seen you in so long. You can steal my tofu anytime.

I’m not sure how I’d feel about that.
(But it actually wasn’t stolen, I came to find out. They just delivered it to the wrong address.)

There’s definitely truth to this, but I came to find out that the delivery wasn’t stolen; it was just made to the wrong address.

Yeah, it was sucking pretty hard until I found out that it wasn’t stolen; they only delivered the food to the wrong address. Then it only kind of sucked. But we got our food, so we’re happy again.

mmm, food.
I was only in TN once ever.
I’d so seriously sign up if I lived in TN, but then, i dunno if living in TN is worth it. no offense.

I just saw this.
Glad you got your order but there’s no excuse for this type of stuff. It really irrates me, it’s no that hard to find someone’s house if you have the address.

Well, I did place another order this week, and I made sure to include a description of both the front and back on the house in the special instructions. You wouldn’t think that’d be necessary, but I wasn’t taking any chances this time!

Apparently your neighbor orders from Plumgood too. Few customers live so close to each other…..so far.
What are your impressions of the site/ordering process?
Posted: Aug 25th, 2006 at 12:16 pm
Yeah, we knew they were customers, which is why when Sarah said that “our nanny” accepted the delivery, I knew immediately what had happened.
The ordering process is pretty OK. I’d like to be able to make better use of the favorites feature without necessarily having to order an item first. There are plenty of things I know I’ll need at some point but I don’t need just yet.
I’m sure I have other impressions, but I’d have to pull the site up to get more detailed — that’s just the one that’s off the top of my head.

Yay!
Considering the ridiculous things that have been stolen from y’all’s house in the last year, I’m unsurprised you thought it was stolen, though.
Do you & your neighbors have a “please sign for my packages when I’m out of the house” agreement?
