How does your garden grow?

This is the moment Karsten and I have been waiting for: the daylilies have started to bloom!

The star of the show: Daylilies!

Thought I’d show a picture or two of the stars, as well as a few pics of some of the other sections of the yard garden, like the herb garden:

Also a pic of our new bikes!

Thanks! I’m learning a lot, but things are growing really well in spite of the gaps in my understanding. The way we envision it in a few years, it will be really full and lush, and I will spend many a peaceful moment admiring it from the bench we’ll have near the side of the house. :-)

Meanwhile, they do this garden tour in our neighborhood every year (it was two weekends ago) and it’s been suggested several times that we be on it next year. I think it’ll take at least two or three years, actually, for things to really fill out and for it to be tour-worthy, but if they ask officially, maybe we’ll do it just for the feedback. There are a lot of really experienced gardeners in our area. I should take some pictures of some of the gardens that were on the tour this year. Yowza.

But I like what we have so far — and it’s really satisfying to look down on it all from the living room window. And from that height, you almost can’t see all the weeds I’m neglecting to pull. :-)

      Yay!!!
      I love spring :):).

I’ll get some pictures soon, but my tomato plants are going bonkers, as are the marigolds planted with them. My tarragon has come back from its winter hibernation with a vengeance, and the oregano and basil are thriving. The chocolate mint is doing what mint does (Pinky: Gee, Brain, what are we going to do tonight? Brain: The same thing we do every night, Pinky. Try to take over the world!), and the rosemary is happy in its new home. The sage out front is settling in. The acidanthera is getting there, I should have flowers soon.

      I love your daylilies!
