We slept in a bed last night! Our bed! In a bedroom! With a door! Closed! So cats couldn’t get in!
And I mean, I really slept.
It’s comfy. It’s lovely. It’s a bed. We haven’t had a bed in over three years. This is a nice, nice change.

When we got a bedframe at last (after about ten years of marriage) we were terribly excited. Felt like grownups and everything.

We sold our wonderful, super-comfy futon when we left Portland in January 2002, and we’ve been sleeping on the floor ever since. Well, on a stack of blankets on the floor, to be precise.
