It’s done!
We signed the papers, we got the keys, we went there and smooched in every room — the place is officially ours. Yay, like nothing I could do justice to in print!
Zola was divine. The perfect celebration, and the best food I’ve eaten since our road trip passed through New Orleans six years ago, and funnily enough, that restaurant was called Nola. Zola, Nola, whatever, it’s fantastic food.
I can hardly believe it’s all for real. We bought a house! In a cool neighborhood! And we get to fix it up and move in, like, soon!
Yay!

Hey, thanks! I’m not sure how grown up it really makes me, but I’ll take the congrats anyway.

Thank you.
And now I can officially offer you a place to stay should you ever decide to come visit Nashville (and me, and Karsten, and…).

Congrats to you both! How exciting

Oy. Funny you should mention that. We got over there yesterday and I was planning on taking video of the whole place — and I discovered that the video camera on my Clie doesn’t work anymore. Bummer! But OK, I thought, more still photos will do the trick. Nope. That doesn’t work either.
I actually did drop this thing the other day from a little higher than I’ve ever dropped it before, but everything else has been working fine and it hadn’t occured to me to check the camera functions. Crap! I’m really disappointed.
I think it may be still under warranty, but I’m sure dropping it invalidates the warranty, and I’d feel bad lying to say it just stopped working all of a sudden. *sigh*
Maybe it’s time to sell it on eBay and buy a Treo 650.

Thank you! We’re definitely excited.

Okay, that *really* sucks.
You might want to consider just taking it in to be fixed anyway. This happened with my camera — I dropped it, and a few features stopped working soon thereafter — and they just never asked me whether I’d dropped it. No need to lie.

Dang, I’d like to see your new crib someday. Wouldn’t mind seeing you guys either, for that matter.
Happy for both of you, about time you got that done. Don’t forget to leave some fish tucked away in your (former) neighbor’s floor before you move.

I hope you know that you, D, & B all have a standing invitation! Should you ever feel like seeing how the country half live (hey, that might be a decent song idea…), come on down! We’ll leave a light on for you.
In the meantime, I just posted a new LJ entry with a link to photos of the house. Check ‘em out!
Good idea about the fish.
