I have met Charlie Pride (he is big and very tall) and Randy Owen at a private DJ special, Little Jimmie Dickens and Dolly Parton (at my Dad’s place), David Allen Coe at Goodlettsville Kroger and also Garth Brooks when he was at the very height of his career shopping with his kids at the same Kroger. He was very nice, wearing overalls and a ball cap and he nearly crashed into my grocery cart and we just smiled and passed each other. I like to give them their space since they are all over Nashville. Met Billy Ray Cyrus and Cozymel’s… he talked to me about a blind deer he tried to save.

Well, Miss Terri, for all that, you'd certainly win the prize... if there was, in fact, a prize. :) Thanks for dropping in to tell us about all your random celebrity encounters!

I'm from Texas, but have been in Nashville since the 90's. I have met Charlie Pride (he is big and very tall) and Randy Owen at a private DJ special, Little Jimmie Dickens and Dolly Parton (at my Dad's place), David Allen Coe at Goodlettsville Kroger and also Garth Brooks when he was at the very height of his career shopping with his kids at the same Kroger. I like to give them their space since they are all over Nashville. Met Billy Ray Cyrus and Cozymel's... he talked to me about a blind deer he tried to save. But I have worked as a designer at CD places here in Nashville and met many briefly, and in between jobs at Opryland Hotel, where I saw so many and you were ordered not to disturb them (which I wouldn't do anyway). And my brother works as a tour bus customizer... so I have seen many of the wonderful buses (NICE buses) they are in... including Loretta Lynn's, Tater Salad's, Blake Shelton, and on and on. And I have a tour bus driver friend, so I have met a lot of heavy metal players... that I don't know but was told who they were (Opeth, Dream Theatre)...

I once ran into Tim Robbins in the street in New York City. Literally ran into; we were rushing in opposite directions and collided at some speed. Neither of us toppled, but it was a near thing. He's a big guy - I'm 6'1", and he has a few inches on me. He was very polite about it. (Well, so was I, but hey, I'm Canadian, it's genetic.)

The only famous people I've seen apart from a place that I knew they'd be --
Grandpa Jones (from Hee Haw) -- K-Mart in Goodlettsville
Hulk Hogan -- riding the tea cup ride at Disney World
One of the guys from Rascal Flatts (no idea which one) -- Bongo Java

And that's it. And I've lived in Nashville going on 24 years now. I either must have the anti-magnet, too, or I'm just completely oblivious to them when I do see them.

Oh yeah, and back in waitress days, I once waited on a local newscaster. I'm not particularly star-struck, especially not of local newscasters, and she looked *really* disappointed not to have been recognized. I almost asked for her autograph just to make her feel better.

My friend worked at TGIFridays for a while, and waited on tons of celebrities. But Local Newscaster Woman was my only one. ;)

I've been a fan of his for ages, too, so it was interesting to meet him. I was tying my kid's shoes for him (picked him up after nap time), and Mr. Mellencamp walked in to get Hud (Speck was too young for preschool at the time). I looked up at him, tried NOT to let my jaw drop, and said a shy "hi." He looked at me with an "Oh god, now I have to deal with fans" expression -- which, frankly, is understandable, given that he's just trying to pick up kids. He struck me as sort of a shy guy rather than a prick, shy, and not too certain about fame. He actually did a lot of great things for that town. And he gave a guest lecture in my friend's class, just for a favor -- that was pretty cool, I thought.

She, on the other hand, struck me as though she was trying really hard to just fit in to normal "mommy" life out at the daycare. And I thought it was interesting they were both enrolled in this normal, not-so-expensive daycare, on the other side of town from their place, when they could easily just afford a nanny or something.
