There is a Salvation Army but their selection is pitiful. I know someone personally who worked there for a bit and saw that ALL of the things donated at that site are trucked off to a central division 40 minutes away to be sorted. Very little of the “good” stuff ever gets back to our location. It’s in a very low income area so I believe they keep the better items for more affluent communies. Sad but true.

Like most thrift stores, Goodwill is very much a hit-or-miss kind of thing. I leave empty-handed a lot. But then, that’s sort of how I feel about most non-grocery shopping: I rarely find exactly what I had in mind when I went into the store.

I love days like that. I used to live in a town with a Salvation Army that did that sale at least once a month. Miss it.

Nice. Sounds like Goodwill has come a long way since I was in college. I wore lots of sweaters because, well, that’s what there was.

All the ones in Middle Tennessee, as far as I know. The one we were at was the one on Charlotte Pike, but maybe you could call your nearest store and find out if they’re participating.
