I saw one somewhere on the web for, like, $250 or something. Heard anything about those? I do have a Sam's Club membership card, actually, courtesy of my mom and her Chamber of Commerce. It's just that, waah waah waah, we'd need to rearrange our whole living room setup to accomodate a TV and DVD player, and, well, eh. We actually tried buying a new external DVD-R drive for his G4, but it had just as many problems so we returned it. It's probably the software or drivers or something that are just too old for today's encoding, or whatever. Maybe when we pay off the debt (in early December!) we'll treat ourselves to a TV and DVD player. Maybe a combo unit. It'll take that long to figure out where we'd put it anyway. I'd also be happy to research 'em for you on Consumer Reports, to which I subscribe online. (We never made a single major purchase in my house growing up before researching it in the print version of CR. I think it's in the genes.)
