I’m being censored. It’s really weird.
I’m posting from my boss’ boss’ house, where I’m housesitting and dogsitting, and she obviously has a “net nanny”-type filter set up on this computer. I’ve never used a computer that had that running before, at least not to my knowledge, but I know this one does because I can’t get to any of the links in the -related feeds. When I try to access biallmeans.org the word % - - - - - - - ” is invisible (had to put the hyphens in there so it doesn’t remove the word from my posting) as if it doesn’t even appear on the page. I tried to access - - - - -d-a-y.com and it redirected me to the National Wildlife Organization or whatever. (Interestingly, the filter leaves the word % ” but doesn’t like % - - - - “)
I’m so weirded out by this. I know it’s common, but I’ve never personally experienced it before.

Oh, she finally got the voicemail messages yesterday morning and sent over a friend who had a key to let us in. Impressively, the dogs didn’t leave any messes in their cages! They were pretty darned thrilled to get out, though, poor pups.

I’m guessing it can, but whether or not anyone bothers to go in and look is another matter. I can’t imagine she has time to.
But I’m only going to be here until Monday. I can cope. I’ll just pop into the office, somewhat ironically, if I really need to read up on happenings in the “alternative lifestyle” world.

Gotcha.
’s review of the original “Turning Myself Into You.” Except that as soon as I reached the second screen of comments, the netnanny would trigger on one of the words in the email (I think it was “ess eee ecks”) and *close my connection*. It was SO frustrating. I take it yours isn’t quite that heinous?
My only encounter with one of those things was in an airport lounge in … I think it was the UK? It was right after I’d first recruited my beta team to read over everything I’d written and tell me what sucked, and I was all excited about finally getting back

Yeah, that’s part of what I meant was somewhat ironic about it. But so far, the filter at work hasn’t blocked me from accessing news sites about “alternative lifestyles.” Maybe that day is coming, though.

well..hmm…would that be discrimination?
I’m guessing not in the case of work.Because it’s thier network and it’s meant to be used for work related activities only.
Which means they’d have to block livejournal too. Which would suck.
