Kind of. It's theoretically possible that I could be ready for a marathon in four months, but given that the four months in question are going to be cold and, therefore, not conducive to extended, rigorous outdoor training, I've allowed for the possibility that I'll only be ready for the half-marathon.

Right now I'm alternating working on building speed (trying to lower both my 5K and 10K times) and distance. I've set a goal of being able to run a 4:30:00 marathon by April, which would feel achievable were it not for the cold. :-) And I don't know, it still may be achievable. But a 2:15:00 half-marathon would suit me, too. That equates to splits of a 31:59 5K, which I can already beat (I ran 5K in under 30:00 Monday morning, and Monday morning runs are some of my slowest), and a 1:03:59 10K, which is completely within my reach right now (I did about 9K Monday morning and it took about an hour). My best 10K time so far has been about 1:10:00, so I need to shave about a minute off each of my miles.

So anyway, we'll see. :-)
